I have had a passion for art from a very young age. Always drawing people and buildings as a child. I came first in an art competition out of all the primary schools in York. I remember drawing a Christmas scene, carol singers around a Christmas tree. It was displayed in The Theatre Royal. That made me want to do more.

At the age of fourteen I went to Saturday art classes. I was taught many different kinds of arts.

Later, in-between having my children I went to college full-time. Gaining several qualifications in art and design, National diploma Graphic Design, Higher National Diploma Graphic Design, HNC Graphic Design and finally a B. A Hons Graphic design.

College introduced me to gouache paint, so I would experiment with painting in my spare time. Practicing regularly.

Later I spent all my spare time writing, designing and self publishing my own children's books. I have four for sale now on Amazon. I enjoy creating new characters and designing their images.

More recently I have painted many gouache paintings. First I painted A4 York historic buildings. Now I've turned my attention onto A3 Blackpool buildings. I now have these paintings printed professionally onto SR A3 gloss 170 GSM paper. Good quality and still easy to roll up for transporting in a cardboard tube. SR A3 is slightly larger than A3, so it gives it a little more white border to enable for mounting and framing.
